Media tycoon Antoine Choueiri dies

Written by AdNation Editor, Wednesday, 10 March 2010

Antoine ChoueiriThe Lebanese businessman Antoine Choueiri, founder of The Choueiri Group, died yesterday. He had been ill for some time.

The Choueiri Group is the main advertising sales representative in the region, with 14 subsidiaries in 11 markets, managing advertising space for over 30 television and radio stations, as well as a number of newspapers, magazines, and outdoor sites. For the last 30 years, Antoine Choueiri has been the single most important figure in Middle East media sales.

There will doubtless be many obituaries and tributes published over the next few days, from people who knew Choueiri personally and will be able to shed far more light on his life than we could. So, we’d just like to offer our condolences to his family at this time.
