Adinc, Al Shabiba, Oman Daily Observer and Gulf News all picked up prizes at this year’s Oman Media Awards, the latest and greatest set of media awards in Oman.
Possibly the only set of media awards in Oman, but that’s neither here nor there.
Adinc – aka Advertising International Company – picked up the gong for Best PR Agency, while the Oman Daily Observer and Al Shabiba walked off with awards as the best English and Arabic daily papers, respectively, at what Adinc described as a “glittering” ceremony.
Gulf News’s Man in Oman Sunil K Vaidya won the newly-introduced Best Foreign Correspondent award.
Adinc general manager Bikram Sehgal, said in a press release: “This award is perfect testament to our team and the work they do. To have been selected for this prestigious award is a great honour for any PR Agency, but for our team at Adinc it is a milestone.
“This award illustrates our passion for our clients and their public relations needs, as well as reinstates our constant focus to do things differently. This award inspires us to continue to represent the best standards in public relations and communications for our clients,” he added, not feeling able to name the Oman Media Awards specifically, it seems.
“Te [sic] award is aimed at giving recognition to young talent as the media world is growing and gaining importance in Omani society day by day," said Saleh Al Shaibany, MD of awards organisers Creative Press and Publishing, quoted in Gulf News (which, we’re guessing, wasn’t in line for an award for sub-editing).
Congrats to everyone who won something.
Yah boo sucks to all those who didn’t. No, wait, that’s mean.
Love and hugs to all those who didn’t. Better luck next year...?
