Saatchi and Zain jaw on war

Written by Eliot Beer, Tuesday, 26 May 2009

Zain and the art of warSaatchi & Saatchi Jordan teamed up with telecoms provider Zain for a communications workshop entitled “Z art of war”.

We’ve no idea why it’s called that – all we can imagine is someone was after the worst pun it’s possible to come up with, and came up with this in the attempt (hint for Brits: try pronouncing the ‘Z’ like the damn Americans – zee?).

Apparently group activities and games and suchlike were on the agenda for marketing professionals from both companies. We hope they had jelly and ice cream as well.

“The workshop's fresh new approach paves the way for a continuation of a fruitful relationship between Zain and Saatchi & Saatchi on a regional level. We look forward to further success now and in the near future,” said Hazem Masarwah, comms manager at Zain Jordan, in a press release.

The release witters on a bit about how good and wonderful Zain is – aside from anything else, it’s also one of the very largest advertising accounts in Jordan, and moved to Saatchi earlier this year.

We’re not quite sure what the aim of this little client-agency get-together was, other than getting out a happy press release, but perhaps it’s part of a cunning plan.

Saatchi Jordan’s creative and managing director said in the release: “We strongly believe in unconventional and creative communication as the pathway for remarkable success. The strategic objective of this workshop is to cultivate team spirit and creativity.”

Awesome.
