Dubai Municipality is embarking on a programme to quiz the city’s residents on what exactly it does all the time. Or something.
“Dubai Municipality offers almost 500 services through its various departments and we would like to know whether people are aware of all our services. Besides, measuring the overall image of the Municipality and how its presence in the eyes of people [sic],” said Farhan Al Marzouqi, director of the Municipality’s Institutional Marketing and Exhibitions department, quoted in Gulf News.
DM will also be investigating which media channels are the most effective for getting through to Dubai residents.
The study will focus on three aspects of DM visible to the public: its “institutional identity”; the markets related to Dubai Municipality; and, er... public gardens.
“The genuine purpose of launching such a study is to be totally aware of all Dubai Municipality services whether correctly delivered and known to both UAE and residents, not to mention the importance of getting accurate feedback from people as well,” commented Al Marzouqi, incomprehensibly, in GN.
We’re sure everyone will be looking forward to the results of the study. We’re also sure that everyone in the media and marketing world will be extra happy if it reveals that 90% of Dubai’s denizens are unaware of the Municipality’s existence, thus triggering a massive increase in media spending.
Well, we can dream.
