A group of UAE-based journalists have formed a media services agency called Qortas Press Services, aimed at both the public and private sectors.

Qortas's general manager, Husny Deyab, says in the press release, "Qortas will meet the media and public relations needs of private and public companies through providing these entities with media contents that communicate truth and useful information and convey the clients’ messages to the targeted audience." Quite how he intends to inject truth and 'useful' information into PR remains unclear. Still, he certainly talks like a flak.

Qortas's range of services, according to the release, includes, "researching, writing and distributing press releases to targeted media; collating and analyzing media coverage; conducting interviews; developing website contents, organizing events including press conferences, workshops, symposia.. etc. for public and private sectors."

Contact details include a mobile phone number and a Yahoo! email address. Which always inspires confidence.
