Flintoff new brand ambassador for Audi Middle East

Written by AdNation Editor, Tuesday, 29 June 2010

Freddie Flintoff - would you buy a used car from this man?Audi Middle East has signed up English cricketer Andrew "Freddie" Flintoff as its new 'ambassador'. Not sure how much the company's paid for this, but Flintoff and his family get two Dubai-plated Audi Q7s for starters.

"Great car! I'll certainly enjoy driving myself and the family around the roads of Dubai in an Audi," 'says' Flintoff in the press release.

It's probably a good signing for Audi. Cricket is hugely popular here, thanks to the large Indian and Pakistani population, and Flintoff is one of the most recognisable cricketers on the planet. And even if he has retired from test cricket, he's still a member of Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League and of Lancashire in England.

As Audi Middle East's managing director, Jeff Mannering says in the release, "Freddie is a great ambassador for Audi: sporty, successful and a family man with strong values. We couldn't think of anyone better to represent our brand."

We're guessing any campaigns won't feature one of the most famous images of Flintoff - still wasted on the double-decker 'victory' bus the morning after England's Ashes win in 2005.
