Turkish Airlines has shelled out to sponsor the latest edition of the Abu Dhabi Explorer guidebook, from Explorer Publishing.
The airline will add a brand spanking new plane (an Airbus A321, aviation fans) to its Abu Dhabi-Istanbul route from the end of June.
ll very on-message in the press release, Explorer’s publisher Alistair MacKenzie said: “We are proud to be supported by Turkish Airlines for our 7th Edition of the Abu Dhabi Explorer. As capital of the UAE, Abu Dhabi is a great choice for expats and tourists alike, and it was a seamless fit to work with a reputable airline with presence in the region.”
Equally keen to push the marketing message out was Turkish Airlines’ Abu Dhabi manager Ayse Misirli Mirza: “We are proud to work with Explorer Publishing to support the Abu Dhabi Explorer, enabling us to reach out to potential customers. We are looking forward to serving Abu Dhabi with a world-class standard of service.”
Explorer seems to be the dominant guidebook publisher for the UAE, focusing more on residents than tourists, and generally the recommended book for newbies.
The Dubai edition is currently sponsored by Atlantis, and – by coincidence, we imagine – sports a nice dusk shot of the self-same hotel on the cover.
