MediaQuestLeaderCorpInc has launched Kazdar.com, a new Arabic-language news website, which seems to be along the same lines as its English-language Kipp Report site.
According to a press release from the publisher, “Kazdar.com takes an unflinching look at the failures and successes of corporations, governments and national economies”.
MediaLeaderQuestCorpInc also publishes the rather fine Communicate, Gulf Marketing Review and Trends magazines, among other titles.
“Kazdar.com is for Arabs who want to know the real ‘Who, What, When, Where and Why’ behind the business stories influencing their world,” said Yazan Neme, managing editor of Kazdar.com, in the release.
“We have created a platform that is user-friendly, with direct, accessible and entertaining editorial content. And through our honest and independent reporting we offer a fresh and unique perspective to our readers,” he added.
From a brief look, and the description in the press release, Kazdar.com sounds very much like an Arabic-language equivalent to MediaCorpLeaderQuestInc’s Kipp Report site, carrying as it does similar editorial features such as Six Degrees of Separation, Top 10s and the like, and a similar look and feel.
We understand Kazdar.com may share some content with Kipp, but will be more Saudi-focused than its counterpart, which makes sense.
It also claims to be Web 2.0’d up, with profiles, comments and communication on the site. Hmm, sounds familiar.
“Thanks to recent economic events, we understand better than ever before that business is not just red and green numbers listed on screens in the stock exchange,” said Julien Hawary, co-CEO of MediaIncCorpQuestLeader, in the release.
“Nor is it a matter that only concerns big companies, businessmen, and governments. Business influences all aspects of our daily life. We created Kazdar.com because people in the region want to know more about business, about how it is affecting their daily lives, and about those people that are shaping the economy,” he added.
When AdNation rustles up one of its Arabic-speaking colleagues, we’ll have a closer look at the site – until then, we wish it well.
