Leo Burnett opens Jordan office

Written by Eliot Beer, Wednesday, 05 November 2008

Leo Burnett's Amman teamLeo Burnett has opened an office in Amman, to capture a slice of the growing Jordanian market.

“Our decision to expand within Amman comes from our conviction that Jordan has become a promising market that can hold its own on the regional level. Leo Burnett Jordan will have the support of our regional network; with the team of experts that we have in Amman today, we are primed to offer the best in integrated communication and brand building,” said Raja Trad, chief exec for the MENA region at Leo Burnett, in a press release.

Joëlle Jammal will head up the new office as managing director.

Leo Burnett’s announcement comes hot on the heels of the IAA’s first gala dinner in Jordan, where it highlighted the impressive growth of the Jordanian advertising market.

Despite strong growth, though, Jordan and the Levant as a whole still lags behind the GCC in terms of advertising spend (although of course major economic upheavals in the Gulf may put a dent in its immediate growth).

Leo Burnett also has offices in Dubai, Jeddah, Riyadh, Kuwait, Cairo, Beirut and Casablanca.
